Other Government Agencies that Can Help you Invest in Egypt
Trade Services Center (TSC)
Introduced in 2006 and expanding its services to the public each year, the TSC was established to assist in the management of complaints and other queries, both by importers and exporters (for specific cases) and the general public also.
Modern Customs Centers (MCCs)
In 2007, clearance requirements were slashed from 26 to only 5 approvals with a considerably reduced number of required documents. In addition to reducing customs clearance to within a single day in most cases, the MCCs have also had the “sunshine effect” of maximizing transparency by eliminating discretionary practices and human error.
Industrial Modernization Center (IMC)
The IMC is an independent body tasked with coordinating efforts to upgrade Egyptian industry. Jointly funded by the EU, the Egyptian government and the private sector, the IMC offers an array of business services. Under its Enterprise Development Program the IMC runs a range of successful programs such as the National Suppliers Development Program. The IMC also provides a number of capacity-building services such as those offered through the Industrial Training Council and offers businesses an Equipment Purchase Incentive Scheme worth up to EGP 100,000.

Industrial Training Council (ITC)
The Industrial Training Council tailors the supply of vocational training programs to the specific human resource needs of investors in Egyptian industry, using private-sector service providers. The ITC is mandated with a national effort to ensure Egypt’s workforce has the practical skills demanded by the companies operating in Egypt. The ITC typically covers 80% of the cost of any given training program and certifies each of its graduates. The ITC is also implementing a system of national vocational competence-based qualifications for Egypt.

Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA)
ITIDA is dedicated to promoting, developing and growing Egypt’s CIT industry. As a self-sustaining agency, ITIDA is crucial in the effort to enhance the Egyptian cyber security and data protection frame-work, resulting in a more secure e-Business and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services positioning. ITIDA is both a focal point for foreign investors and a strategic advisor to MNCs investing in the Egyptian CIT sector. ITIDA offers services to help develop and promote: e-business, SMEs, training, international certification, academic collaborations and community awareness.

Industrial Development Authority (IDA)
Established in 2005, the Egyptian Industrial Development Authority (IDA) is responsible for executing industrial policies, promoting new industrial investment (both foreign and local), devising and implementing land development policies and providing investors with industrial land and operating licenses. The IDA also participates in drafting relevant new laws and regulations and in determining the price of industrial land.
